Bash the CarpBack to Uptown dances HistoryCreated by Dave Seibert, with sticking based on that of Adderbury South Australia. Tune:A corruption of Petronell Implements:Sticks Distinctive Figure:(double-length): In the first half, apprentices (evens) begin by holding sticks high in front of themselves, while masters (odds) swing on the first beat and strike on the second. Repeat, reversing roles, on the next two beats. Then, strike forehand, backhand, swing but miss forehand, and circle stick overhead to strike forehand on the next beat (fore, back, miss, fore). Hop after the last forehand strike, and dance a half-hey up. Repeat the above pattern to the second half of the chorus music, with two differences: every motion in the sticking takes place one-half-beat later than in the first half, and because of this, there is no hop before the second hey-up. The dance ends all up.
